Task:

To organize the shipment of a batch of industrial equipment from the Port of Nakhodka to the Port of Ho Chi Minh under Lumpsum Charter terms, with full support: vessel selection and chartering, coordination of operations at the loading and discharge ports, and cost control for a client with no prior experience in bulk shipments.

Solution:

• Within a tight timeline, selected and chartered a small-tonnage bulk vessel on Lumpsum Charter terms.
• The GLOGOS team provided consulting support, coordinated all stakeholders and supervised loading and discharge operations.
• Set up a transparent information flow for the client at all stages of the shipment, taking into account the specifics of bulk operations.
• During the project, conducted negotiations with the shipowner and agreed on conditions for vessel idle time and additional cargo.
• At the port of discharge, ensured coordination with local agents and the final consignee, supervising cargo handover to the final point.

Challenges:

• The actual delivery of cargo to the port of loading was later than the initially agreed date.
• Vessel downtime occurred with demurrage charged by the shipowner.
• Additional unannounced cargo appeared that had to be approved within the already fixed charter conditions.

Result:

Despite these factors, the shipment was completed in full: the industrial equipment was delivered on time and in sound condition, with costs monitored and kept under control for the client.
